Bio

Forrest Williamson, PhD, GStat, is Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the Indiana University, and Senior Research Scientist in Global Statistical Sciences at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. He did his undergraduate work in Mathematics at the University of North Texas, followed by graduate studies in Statistical Science at Baylor University. Dr. Williamson joined Eli Lilly and Company in 2014 supporting the area of Advanced Analytics, researching clinical trial methodology including adaptive designs, simulation and optimization, visual analytics, and Bayesian methods. He spent four years in Advanced Analytics before taking a position in the Early Phase Statistics group supporting immunology drug development, studying novel therapies seeking indications in dermatology, rheumatology, and gastroenterology autoimmune diseases. He is a statistician for study teams implementing early phase clinical pharmacology, proof-of-concept, and dose finding studies. Dr. Williamson is an expert in pediatric and rare disease clinical trials. He is a statistical representative on the Eli Lilly and Company Pediatric Steering Committee, consulting across development phases covering indications in immunology, neurology, oncology, and endocrinology. Dr. Williamson hopes to contribute his industry experience and statistical background to highlight the importance of statistical thinking and study design in bringing better medicines to patients faster.
