Faculty cardiologists at IU School of Medicine in the Krannert Institute of Cardiology offer expertise in the full range of heart and blood vessel problems, and treatments range from lifestyle modification to implanted heart-assist devices and transplantation. Specialized programs include heart rhythm disorder ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, coronary and peripheral vascular angioplasty, cardiomyopathy and advanced heart failure treatments, and heart valve disorders.
Several advanced programs are situated at the IU Health Cardiovascular Center. The clinical activities of the Krannert Institute are carried out in Methodist Hospital, IU Health University Hospital, Eskenazi Hospital, and the Roudebush Veterans Administration Hospital—all located on the IU School of Medicine—Indianapolis campus and connected by monorail.Recent clinical initiatives include comprehensive service and out-patient offices at IU Health West and IU Health North suburban hospitals.
