Bio
Dr. Daniel Rusyniak is the Chief Medical Officer of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA). Among the work he is involved with, include programs aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of pregnant women with opioid us disorder, justice-involved individuals, and older adults requiring nursing home level of care. He is also a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the IU School of Medicine. Prior to his role at FSSA, Dr. Rusyniak was the Medical Director of the Indiana Poison Control Center and the IU Division Chief for Medical Toxicology. He has had sustained research career with multiple NIH grants. His work has focused on the prevention of complications related to drug overdose and misuse. He has authored over 70 articles, 13 textbook chapters, and edited 4 books.
