Bio

Dr. Bart Besinger is a 1997 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Prior to this, he received a B.S. in biology from Indiana University. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Methodist/IUSOM in 2000. After one year of practice in Elkhart, IN, he joined the faculty of the Department of Emergency Medicine in June, 2001.

Bart is full time clinical faculty at Methodist Hospital.  He a member of the IUSM student promotions committee was formerly the associate director and Methodist site coordinator for the MS-4 Emergency Medicine Clerkship. In addition to medical student education, his areas of interest include faculty development, syncope, biliary tract disease, and farm-related injuries. Bart regularly lectures on a variety of emergency medicine topics regionally, nationally, and internationally.
