Brief Description

What is the purpose of this study?
Barbershop 2.0 is a program coordinated by Indianapolis Health Equity, Access, outReach & Treatment (iHEART) Collaborative under the IU Health's Office of Health Equity, Research and Engagement (HERE) and the Health Equity Advancing through Learning Health System Research Partnership (HEAL-R) at the IU School of Medicine, and is supported by the IU Health Cardiovascular Institute and Novartis. This program aims to bridge gaps in healthcare access, specifically cardiovascular disease prevention in the Black community, by providing outreach, education, counseling and screening in Indianapolis barbershops and connecting patrons to a provider via virtual care if needed. This research component is specifically designed to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of the Barbershop 2.0 program.

THIS STUDY IS ENROLLING BY INVITATION ONLY - This study is only enrolling participants who have recently participated in a screening event that was hosted at their local barbershop and had a blood pressure reading at or greater than 140/90.
