Osteosarcoma Predisposition - Developing New Models to Study Pediatric Osteosarcoma Development

Brief Description
What is the purpose of this study?
In partnership with Indiana Biosciences Research Institute, we will develop new models to study pediatric osteosarcoma. We will invite children with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, hereditary retinoblastoma syndrome, or Rothmund-Thompson syndrome to participate. These three syndromes are associated with an increased risk to develop osteosarcoma.
THIS STUDY IS ENROLLING BY INVITATION ONLY - Jennifer Ivanovich MS, MBA CGC and Marri Hampton RN, will identify children with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, hereditary retinoblastoma, or Rothmund Thomson syndrome who are currently followed in the Pediatric Cancer Predisposition Clinic. Eligible participants and their parent /guardian will be contacted by telephone prior to the child’s next clinic visit. The parent or guardian of eligible participants will be contacted by any member of the clinical team including Dr. Lion, Ms. Hampton, Ms. Vonbergen, or Ms. Ivanovich. The parent / guaridan who verbally agrees to participate will be approached again at the time of the next clinic visit.
Consistent with most oncology trials, patients are not actively “recruited,” but are screened by their physician for appropriate clinical trial(s) at the time of their routine clinic visit. Occasionally, a patient may be a self-referral or physician referral, but are still screened for appropriate clinical trials at the time of their routine clinic visit. PI and staff may send copies of relevant consent forms to these patients to look over prior to actually consenting or enrolling them. This may take place at the patient's visit at which the consent is presented or the patient's next visit to the outpatient hematology/oncology clinic.

Detailed Description
What will happen during the study?
- Participants will be asked to undergo a blood draw.
- Blood samples will be obtain from children at one of the hospitals on the academic health center (AHC).
- Samples will be taken to Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) to conduct research studies.

- Children wiht Li-Fraumeni syndrome, hereditary retinoblastoma, or Rothmund Thomson syndrome who are currently followed in the Pediatric Cancer Predisposition Clinic.
