Medical Service Learning

Community engagement through medical service learning is an important part of the path from student to healer. At all IU School of Medicine campuses, including Muncie, students are encouraged to participate in medical service-learning experiences. The IU School of Medicine Medical Service Learning program offers statewide opportunities for curricular and co-curricular engagement.

Medical Service Learning Programs in Muncie

The HCA’s primary purpose is to improve community health indicators related to chronic disease and three primary focus areas: increasing physical activity, improving nutrition, and decreasing tobacco use.

Open Door Health Services is a not-for-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center, providing comprehensive primary, urgent and preventive healthcare services to individuals and families throughout East Central Indiana regardless of their health insurance status.
