Service learning is encouraged for students on the Indianapolis campus to serve as advocates for the health and well-being of the community.

Medical Service Learning

Medical students in Indianapolis—and at all other IU School of Medicine statewide campuses—are encouraged to engage in medical service-learning experiences with other members of the community. As the largest city in Indiana, Indianapolis offers a wide range of service learning opportunities to advance students’ professional interests. In addition to the Indianapolis Student Outreach Clinic, there are more than 20 active student service opportunities in Indianapolis that partner with IU School of Medicine’s Medical Student Service Group (MSSG).
