100 000 COVID-19 specimens processed

The Pathology Lab team has processed more than 100,000 specimens for COVID-19 testing. This amazing feat is a result of the combined efforts of our Molecular Pathology and Microbiology labs, Specimen Processing, Send-out department, Outreach Sales, Courier Services and Customer Care, LIS team members and countless others across the state that assist with all the steps involved from specimen collection to transport to specimen preparation and testing to reporting a result. “Our pathology expertise and operations leadership remains without peer. So many of you volunteered to build specimen collection kits, work in our remote collection locations and support our regional collection efforts,” Clark Day, vice president of Laboratory Services, wrote in a message to team members. “I offer my sincere thanks to all.”
