The AAMC Standardized Video Interview (SVI), an innovative tool designed to assess knowledge of interpersonal/communication skills and professional behavior, will open in early June with the launch of ERAS® for the 2019 residency application season. The SVI is required for all applicants applying to emergency medicine programs.

The AAMC will host a free webinar to share resources and information to help applicants, medical school advisors and emergency medicine clerkship directors prepare for the SVI.

This webinar will explain the SVI tool, the interview timeline, and highlight resources to help applicants prepare. Presenters will take questions from participants during the webinar.
Applicants who are still considering whether to apply in emergency medicine are strongly encouraged to prepare for and complete the video interview. The SVI will be open to applicants from early June – July 15.
