All IUSM medical students are provided group disability coverage through the Med Plus Advantage group trust policy sponsored through the American Medical Association and issued by Standard Insurance Company of Oregon policy number #644180-A. This policy’s design meets the specialized needs of our medical students. Below is general information about the policy. For the full policy terms, contact Lee Moore (contact information listed below). All claims settled based on the policy itself.

  • Payment of benefits is limited to 24 months during your lifetime for a disability caused by a mental disorder or substance abuse. However, if confined to a hospital solely because of a mental disorder at the end of the 24-month period this limitation will not apply while you remain continuously confined to the hospital.
