A Financial Literacy Moment: Movie Passes

Do you like to go to the movies? In my trips to the IUSM Campuses during the Fall semester, we discussed savings opportunities. I shared a few opportunities and asked the students to share some of their saving opportunities. One student mentioned and shared his experiences using the Movie Pass. The Movie Pass is a movie subscription service that allows a person to catch the latest movies, any movie, any movie theater, any day. The cost is $9.95 per month with no commitment. So, I thought I’d give it a try. It was great! Over the break I saw 9 movies (two in one day). I could have gone to more, but did not get my movie pass card until the week before Christmas. My cost was $9.95, for the month! When you consider the cost of going to the movie theater, it more than paid for itself. Thank you to the student in Bloomington who turned me on to the saving opportunity. Learn more
