Do you have questions, thoughts or feedback about diversity initiatives and programs? Would you like to explore ways to foster an inclusive environment and become more culturally competent? Ask a Diversity Dean!

Ask Me Anything is an open, dedicated time to ask questions and provide feedback to school leaders in Faculty Affairs, Professional Development, and Diversity (FAPDD). Anyone across IU School of Medicine can participate. Ask Me Anything office hours will be held on the first Tuesday (1 - 2 pm) and second Thursday (10 - 11 am) of each month.

Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs & Professional Development

Arrizabalaga is an assistant dean for FAPDD and focuses his efforts on supporting and mentoring learners underrepresented in medicine and trainees in all of the graduate and medical education programs at our school. He is committed to promoting an open, just and inclusive culture that allows for the success and wellness of our students and trainees.

Bonds is the director of Pipeline and Pre-Doctoral Programs. Her interests include helping underrepresented and diverse medical students gain valuable learning experiences and achieve post-baccalaureate success.

Director of Diversity Initiatives

Rucker is the director of Diversity Affairs for FAPDD and works with all stakeholders across the School's community. Through facilitating workshops, working with students and student interest groups, or providing support through sustainable equity plan development; Rucker aims to provide support via education, organizational development and strategic planning.

Javier F. Sevilla-Martir, MD

Assistant Dean for Diversity Affairs

Sevilla-Martir serves Indianapolis’ underserved communities through the administration of the Student Outreach Clinic. He also advocates for the diversification of, not only the family medicine residency and faculty, but for all departments within IU School of Medicine, through his personal actions, and through his role as an assistant dean of Diversity Affairs for FAPDD.

Senior Associate Dean for Diversity Affairs

Tori is an associate dean for FAPDD and focuses on implementing a culturally competent curriculum for learners, addressing biases and microaggressions in medical education, and developing programs to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive learning and working environment. Tori considers it a personal mission to influence the next generation of practitioners and ensure diversity among their ranks.

Tucker Edmonds is an assistant dean for Diversity Affairs and focuses her efforts on faculty development for populations underrepresented in medicine and developing programming to help junior faculty of color advance professionally and thrive personally in our community. She seeks to aid in cultivating an open and inclusive climate in support of recruiting, retaining, and promoting talented, diverse faculty and leadership teams.
