The first issue of IU Med Weekly—the newsletter for IU School of Medicine faculty and staff—was released on March 30. Replacing INScope and delivered on Wednesday instead of Thursday, IU Med Weekly aligns with the university’s branding but includes many of the same general categories, including news about research, opportunities, kudos and partner news. As you review today’s issue, please note:

New submission deadline: To accommodate the newsletter’s mid-week distribution, the deadline for weekly submissions has changed. The new deadline for the Wednesday editions is the preceding Friday at 4 pm.

IU Med Weekly submission email: Beginning this week, news and submissions for IU Med Weekly should be e-mailed to mednews@iu.edu. (The Office of Strategic Communications will continue to monitor the INScope submission box for the next several weeks, and an automatic reply will direct those submitting news to mednews@iu.edu.)

New Internal News blog: Featured stories written by the IU Med Weekly team will be published to the new Internal News blog. Click the “call to action” buttons in the IU Med Weekly newsletter to view full stories and get more information about events and opportunities.

Subscribing to IU Med Weekly: Faculty and staff who received INScope will automatically receive IU Med Weekly. New subscribers should email mednews@iu.edu to be added to the newsletter subscription list. A subscription link will be added to the Internal News blog in the coming weeks.

In addition to general school news, IU Med Weekly primarily publishes news and information relevant to faculty and staff in all departments and areas within the school. To help guide future submissions, IU Med Weekly editorial guidelines will be shared on the school’s website in the near future.
