Dr. Kochhar is the Director for Research in Medical Education in the Dean’s Office of Educational Affairs and Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She received her MBBS (MD) degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi, India in 1994. Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Kochhar served as a House Surgeon in Delhi until 1999. She came to the United States in 2000, and obtained her master’s degree in Health Administration (MHA) from Indiana University in 2003. Dr. Kochhar has 16+ years of experience successfully managing and directing projects in collaboration with clinical and basic science departments within the Indiana University School of Medicine, as well as the Indiana State Department of Health. She has received continuous funding to support health services research and medical educational research, garnering over $2.5M as a principal investigator or co-investigator on 52 funded grants and contracts. She has authored or co-authored 193 technical reports and 22 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at 121 local, regional, national and international professional conferences.
