Enjoy a sweet tradition and help IU thank health care professionals
The Strawberry Shortcake Luncheon is an Indiana University tradition that dates to 1947, when IU doctors and nurses would gather each spring on the lawn outside Riley Hospital, or under big tents, to enjoy a sweet treat and celebrate our health care professionals.
For 74 years, the event has been a focal point for alumni gatherings. In recent years it has been one of the high points of Medical Alumni Weekend, where graduating classes reunite to share their special memories and celebrate all things IU.
Enduring across decades has been the special IU recipe for strawberry shortcake, a sweet golden biscuit topped with delicious cream and ripe strawberries—the crimson to go with the cream.
We look forward to continuing the tradition on June 11, 2022 with our 75th Annual Strawberry Shortcake Luncheon. Please save the date and look forward to more information. If you can't join us in person, consider participating by making your own strawberry shortcake and sharing it on social media on June 11, 2022 with the hashtag #IUSSL. We can't wait to see your creations.
