Technology Affairs Leadership
The Office of Technology Affairs brings together IT professionals from throughout IU School of Medicine into one highly coordinated team to best serve the needs of faculty, learners and staff. The office includes three units, each of which is responsible for an area of strategic importance—experience, security and data.
Leaders of these units work together under the direction of the executive associate dean for technology affairs to ensure the seamless delivery of IT services and to continuously innovate and enhance IT capabilities available to the IU School of Medicine community.
Executive Associate Dean Rob Lowden
Director, Security Operations
Bozarth directs a team charged with creating and implementing policies, standards, and procedures that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of IU School of Medicine information and technology resources. He also has oversight of systems infrastructure and administration across all nine campuses. In addition, Bozarth serves as IU’s HIPAA Security Officer. In that capacity, he is responsible for implementing, managing and enforcing information security directives mandated by the Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Marwan N. Hanania
Director, Data and Development
Hanania leads a team responsible for the development, maintenance and integration of school-wide data systems, as well as the analysis and visualization of data to inform decision making and track progress toward strategic goals. The group also serves as the primary web and application developers for IU School of Medicine and provides technical expertise in support of the school’s website and intranet portals.
Director, Client Experience
Phillips oversees a team that delivers high-quality IT support at all nine campuses with the goal of ensuring a technology experience that empowers faculty, staff and students. The group is committed to delivering a consistent and reliable IT experience across all environments—including classrooms, laboratories and clinics. Core services include an easy-to-access help desk, a team of strategically deployed IT support and experience partners, and a group of professionals dedicated to classroom and virtual meeting spaces and related technologies.
