Wellness at IU School of Medicine and IU Health

Indiana University School of Medicine embraces wellness as a sense of thriving across multiple domains. Toward this aim, we are working to implement programming and resources that emphasize and support health, professional success, and overall happiness while increasing the capacity for empathy and resistance to burnout. Fostering well-being is a community responsibility.

Health and Wellness Advisory Council

The IU Health/IU School of Medicine Health and Wellness Advisory Council (HWAC) serves as a two-way communicating body to share wellness ideas from all areas of the academic health care organization. This group provides recommendations to leaders that promote personal, team and system-wide well-being. Members are invited by the HWAC chair and departmental nominations.

2022 Wellbeing Survey

IU School of Medicine and IU Health are inviting feedback on wellbeing from all of our health care providers, basic science faculty and graduate students across Indiana and the academic health center. Survey results will help generate robust benchmarks measuring professional fulfillment, burnout and drivers/mitigators of these outcomes.
