With the mission to advance the art and science of medicine for people of African descent, the Aesculapian Medical Society is the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Medical Association, serving the Indianapolis area for more than 100 years.
GenderNexus is an organization created to support and address all dimensions of wellness for gender diverse people, including physical, emotional, social, spiritual, occupational, intellectual and environmental dimensions.
Indiana Legal Services is a nonprofit law firm that provides free civil legal assistance to eligible low-income people throughout Indiana. Indiana Legal Services helps clients who face legal problems that harm their ability to have basics such as food, shelter, income, medical care or personal safety. The Low-Income LGBT Project is a target effort at serving Indiana’s LGBT population while continuing the greater work of Indiana Legal Services. The organization serves low-income LGBT residents across Indiana. Legal services include family law, access to health care, name and gender marker changes, discrimination and other issues facing the target population. Spanish speaking staff available.
OutCare provides extensive information and education on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) health care. OutCare recognizes the unique health needs of LGBTQ individuals and connects them with the most appropriate health care providers, resources and events. OutCare is a collaborative effort between IU School of Medicine, Marian University and the Indianapolis community.
