Clinical Encounters Real Time Tracking System (CERTTS)
Clinical Encounters Real Time Tracking System (CERTTS) is an online tool to assess clerkship specific skills and tracks patient encounters using a Windows 7, Apple iOS, or Android-based smartphone. Clerkship, ICM course directors, and competency directors can view a student’s progress in meeting these requirements at any time.
Clerkship specific skills and required patient encounters have been identified Students’ performance during each clerkship and review this information are reviewed during the mid-course feedback session with the student. The Basic Clinical Skills Competency Director monitors students’ performance of the core skills that will be accomplished across the third year. The CERTTS system indicates for the student, the clerkship director, and the Basic Clinical Skills Competency Director that the minimum requirements have been met for each core area. Students not completing the required experiences by the end of the clerkship receive an “isolated deficiency” and are referred to the Student Promotions Committee (SPC) for action.
