Bloomington
Bloomington Campus MS 1 & 2
IUSM-Bloomington, also known as the Medical Sciences Program of Bloomington, is located on the main campus of Indiana University. The program is designed to provide medical students with an excellent curriculum in the basic sciences via year-long courses, small class size, close personal contact between students and faculty/clinicians with extensive and early clinical integration at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Class attendance is required and exams are scheduled in blocks–4 weeks of lecture followed by 1 week of testing.
Starting in 2012, Bloomington will offer 3rd year as a longitudinal integrated clerkship. The Medical Sciences Program also offers Associate Instructorships (AI) to second year medical students. These AIs serve as teaching assistants in both the undergraduate and medical laboratory courses and provide medical students with both financial support and an excellent opportunity to develop their teaching and interpersonal skills. Excellent research opportunities are available in conjunction with Indiana University and students at the Bloomington campus may choose to pursue combined Ph.D., M.A. and M.S. degrees.
