For over 35 years, SNMA has been an important part of the IU School of Medicine Community. We have served the community with distinction while meeting the educational needs of an increasingly diverse society here at IUSOM.>

The Student National Medical Association is one of the oldest and largest minority medical student organizations in the country. This organization is committed to increasing the number of culturally capable and sensitive physicians equipped to serve people of color and under-served communities. SNMA was founded on the principles of community service, cultural enrichment, and diversity in the medical community. Our members work hard to address disparities in health care, minority medical education, and the needs and progression of medically underserved areas. All medical students are welcomed and encouraged to become a part of the SNMA.
