Head and Neck Fellowship
We are pleased to announce that our head and neck surgery team at Indiana University will be offering a one year clinical head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery fellowship starting in July, 2013. The fellowship will be a multidisciplinary experience aimed at preparing trainees for a career in academic head and neck surgery. The fellow will gain exposure to techniques involved in advanced ablative and endocrine procedures, open and endoscopic skull base surgery, head and neck reconstruction including a large volume of free tissue transfers, as well as transoral approaches to throat malignancies (both CO2 laser and transoral robotic surgery).
They will also have the opportunity to get hands-on exposure to the medical and radiation oncology care of head and neck cancer patients and will finish the year as an instructor for the annual IU Anatomy and Histopathology Course.
Applications will be accepted starting December of 2011 through the Advanced Training Council of the American Head and Neck Society. Interviews will be held from January to May of 2012. Those interested can learn more though the www.ahns.info or contact Dr. Michael Moore directly at mooremg@iupui.edu.
