Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Student Interest Group
Purpose: The object of the Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Student Interest Group is to support and advise students interested in otolaryngology as a vocation with an emphasis on preparing students for their career interest in ear, nose, and throat medicine and surgery. As a function of the group, upper classmen will be able to pass on advice and experiences to future classes to aid students in preparation for matching into Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery. Students going into other disciplines are welcome to attend meetings, where invited lecturers will provide knowledge about the field and expose them to the diversity of this field.

Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Student Survival Guide
The purpose of this survival guide is to help prospective MS3 and MS4 otolaryngology applicants navigate the very complex process of applying and matching into a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. (Click here)
Research Opportunities
Research participation is viewed by many as essentially mandatory in considering a fourth year applicant for a residency position, and thus helping IUSM students gain significant and meaningful research experience is a significant goal of both the Indiana University School of Medicine Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Department and Student Interest Group. Students interested in participating in department research should contact Ms. Angela Landrum within the Department of Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery who maintains a list of current research projects. Her contact information is amlowe@iupui.edu. (317) 278-1229.
