Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) Department of Neurological Surgery offers a fully accredited 7-year Neurological Surgery Residency Program that provides opportunities for residents to experience clinical practice and patient care as well as basic science research.
The strength of our residency program is sustained through Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine, one of the nation’s largest private neurosurgery practices, which is located on the 5th Floor of IU Health’s state-of-the-art Neuroscience Center. To see our group of providers, click here.
Our residency program is augmented by several PhD neuroscientists whose efforts are dedicated to basic research that will translate to advances in neurological surgery. The expertise of our clinical and research groups provides an outstanding learning experience for our residents and fellows.
Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine operates the day-to-day functions of the Department of Neurological Surgery, serving as faculty, administering the residency program, and supporting full academic pursuits, including thriving clinical and basic science research programs. From January 2015 to March 2016, our residents co-authored 43 published research studies.
