Kidney Transplant
Indiana University Health Physicians Kidney Transplant
The Indiana University Health Physicians Adult Kidney Transplant Program is located at Indiana University Hospital with the pediatric program at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. The program performs over 200 kidney and 60 kidney-pancreas transplants per year (#1 in pancreas transplant volume in the US in 2010) and is part of the 4th biggest (by volume – 2010) abdominal transplant program in the US. Our expertise includes research in transplanting highly sensitized and difficult-to-transplant patients and we participate in both regional and national paired donation programs. A well-established living donor (kidney) program is part of the IU kidney transplant program with 45-50% of kidney transplants done annually from living donors – both directed and non-directed. A living donor post-transplant clinic provides care for the post-donation kidney donors. Outreach clinics for evaluation of pre-kidney transplant patients are held in Evansville, Merrillville, Lafayette , South Bend and Fort Wayne as well as at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. Our transplant team includes experienced nephrologists and surgeons with extensive experience in the care of the pre-transplant and transplant patient. For contact information – please see below.
