Didactics Sessions

Didactic teaching is an integral component of our training program:

  • Renal Grand Rounds
    Our main conference in the Division occurs on Thursday mornings and features a wide range of topics and presenters from fellows and faculty to national and international experts

  • Medicine Grand Rounds
    Internal Medicine Grand Rounds are held on Wednesday mornings

  • Core Topics Series
    A comprehensive Core Topic Series is held at Noon on Mondays and occasionally Fridays, covering acute renal failure, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, electrolyte physiology, glomerulonephritis, etc.

  • Transplant Lecture
    Bi-weekly lecture covering historical, fundamental and recent advances in renal transplantation

  • Biopsy Conference
    Bi-weekly conference where fellows sit at the teaching microscope with the area's expert in renal pathology
  • Research Conference
    On Wednesdays, a research seminar is held encompassing both basic and clinical research, given by investigators from the Division, other departments or outside institutions

  • Board Review
    Bi-weekly board review and quiz session facilitated by faculty

  • Case Presentation
    Bi-weekly case presentations by fellows to the Division

  • Journal Club
    Bi-weekly presentation and critical appraisal of current literature by fellows

  • Transplant Journal Club
    Bi-weekly presentation and critical appraisal of current literature in the field of tranplantation by fellows
