Dr. Taber is the medical director of transplant nephrology at Indiana University. In addition, he is the medical director of the IU kidney and pancreas transplant programs. His research interests are varied but he has a specific interest in transplantation of the difficult-to-transplant patient. Dr. Taber, with the Indiana University team of transplant nephrologists, has made the IU kidney transplant program a national leader in research in ways to immunomodulate highly sensitized patients in order to improve their access to transplantation. In addition, during his medical directorship, the pancreas program has become the largest (in numbers of transplants done annually) in the nation.
