Bio

Dr. Choi currently serves as Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education and Professor of Clinical Surgery. Dr. Choi received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine where she also completed her General Surgery residency and a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery.

Her clinical focus is minimally invasive surgery and includes bariatric surgery, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernias, and all types of abdominal wall hernias.

Dr. Choi’s research focus is surgical education and bariatric surgery. She has co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Choi is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), SAGES, the Association of Program Directors in Surgery (APDS) and Association of Surgical Education. She currently serves as the Secretary of APDS and on multiple education related committees of the ACS.
