The Indiana University School of Medicine Class of 1948 and Class of 1973 have joined together to establish the Otis R. Bowen Scholarship, named in honor of the former Indiana governor and School of Medicine alumnus. Gifts to this endowed fund are invested in perpetuity, and earnings are used to provide support for a student's medical education. The Class of 1973 has raised more than $61,000 since the fund was established in 1998. This year's recipient of the Class of 1948 and 1973 Otis R. Bowen Scholarship is receiving $4,600 in scholarship support because of the generosity of members of the classes of 1948 and 1973. The amount of aid awarded increases as the fund grows. Annual tuition at the School of Medicine has now eclipsed $25,000 for Indiana residents and $42,000 for non-residents, so your contribution to this class scholarship will make a difference to future medical students.
