Overview
The Summer Research Opportunity Programs (SROP) at IUPUI and the Indiana University School of Medicine is a summer research program designed to encourage outstanding underrepresented students to pursue graduate studies and professional careers in biomedical research. The Summer Research Fellowship Program offered through our department is funded by a National Institutes of Health grant (T35 HL007802) grant “Short Term Training for Minority Students” and is directed by Dr. Michael Sturek. Under the direct guidance of a faculty mentor, students conduct research in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, neuropharmacology, and several others. This program begins on Monday, June 1, 2009 through Friday, July 31, 2009. See the description of projects and mentors from the summer 2007 program: T35 2008 HL007802 Student Research Projects v2.doc.
