We address the many medical complications of family violence through our location on and collaboration with the large medical campus of the IU School of Medicine at IUPUI.  Medical facilities include Indiana University Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children, Wishard Memorial Hospital, and Methodist Hospital.  Victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and elder abuse  receive the best possible care, provided by clinicians and advocates who are specially trained to handle these sensitive situations.

Among the services we are able to provide:

Child Abuse Inpatient Consultation Service:  Children admitted to Riley, Methodist, or Wishard with concerns of suspected child abuse or neglect are evaluated by the Child Protection Team clinician.

Center of Hope:  Located within the Wishard Hospital emergency room, the Center of Hope provides crisis counseling, medical evaluations, referrals, and follow-up care for adult victims of sexual assault.

Pediatric Center of Hope:  The Pediatric Center of Hope (PCOH) provides crisis counseling services and medical evaluation for suspected victims of child sexual abuse.  There are two components - daytime clinics in Wishard Health Services Primary Care Center and emergency after hours services based in the Riley Hospital emergency room.  The clinic is offered several days a week.   During clinic hours, outpatients are seen for comprehensive evaluations of alleged sexual abuse.

Fellowship Training -- Our new comprehensive Child Abuse fellowship program for pediatricians is instrumental in properly training physicians to handle the many complications that can arise when a child is abused.
