Research

Organized research in the Department of Otololaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is conducted in four laboratories: the DeVault Otologic Research Laboratory, the Infant Language Laboratory, the Auditory Neuroscience Laboratory, and the Neurolaryngology Laboratory.

The main research program of the DeVault Otologic Research Laboratory and its subsidiary, the Infant Language Laboratory, involves the examination of various behavioral outcomes of cochlear implantation in infants, children, and adults.

Research in the Auditory Neuroscience Laboratory involves both stem cell research and research on auditory neuron development.

Research in the Neurolaryngology Laboratory focuses on the development of better treatment options for vocal fold paralysis.
