Gifts to the Indiana University School of Medicine may be made outright - the funds will be used in their entirety - or in the form of an endowment. An endowed gift becomes the principal of a fund, managed by the Indiana University Foundation, which generates interest earnings in support of a program or initiative at the Indiana University School of Medicine. A portion of the earnings is reinvested so that the fund grows faster than inflation, steadily supplying the money needed to accomplish its intended goals. In terms of time, an endowed gift remains in perpetuity while an outright gift may be used immediately and completely. Gifts of cash, check or credit card are welcome.
